Optial’s purpose is to enable organisations to demonstrate a culture of strong risk management. At the heart of Optial’s application infrastructure is its flexible Object and Relationship model. Optial uses a series of business data objects to record systematically the key information required for different kinds of risk management. Commonly used business data objects are organisation units, loss events, checklists, risks, controls and actions. Clients can add additional fields to these or other existing objects or create and link brand new ones, without the need for programming.
However unlike some other vendors, the methodologies involved are not fixed, but can be configured locally to meet specific requirements for data gathering, approval, workflow, process management and analysis. This rich and deep configurability extends throughout the application from the core business information components through their relationships and into the user interface.
